Miraculous Escape from a major disaster at Barkur

The people of Barkur saw a miraculous near miss 2nd February, which could have been a worst disaster.  At round 6 .p.m., a Maruthi Omni van got engulfed in flames right next to the only Fuel station that is operating in Barkur since 3 years.  Luckily nobody was hurt as the driver of the vehicle sensed some problems with the vehicle just before and parked the car near the Fuel Station and went to get some help from the mechanics.  Just seconds after the driver alighting from the vehicle it went into flames at once and completely charred as seen in the pictures.

It was a miraculous escape as the Driver of the vehicle parked it outside the fuel station and not decided to take it in for the check up and he got out of the vehicle at the right moment. Fuel Loading operations were going on at the Fuel Station at the very moment and a burning vehicle inside the Fuel Station could have resulted in a major disaster.   It is believed that some electrical short circuit is the cause of the fire.  Fire Brigade from Udupi was mobilized to put off the fire.
