Good interview, best
wishes to the President and Directors to lead the Society to
become a Bank soon. Members make use of the facilities
offered, Investors, patronise this unit, to make it grow in
strength, of course, the ground staff have a big role to play,
in the process of developing it to be a Bank. All in all let us
accept it as our own financial firm and let us be a part
of its progress. All the Best, Adrian,
Brahmmavar.
adrianpradeep@hotmail.com Members of ICYM of Barkur, Wish all your functions, programmes & projects a grand success, planned out to celebrate the 'Jubilee - 25' in the coming month. We are very happy to have quick and prompt News around Barkur, in this Site.Thank you very much and best wishes for further progress, to all, behind this laudable work on line. May God Bless You all...... Vincent D'Souza udyadsv68@hotmail.com ,25/11/2002 It is now about 25 - 30 years; there was no forum for youth of Barkur. Students pursuing their studies in PUC and very few in Colleges, were really looking for one. The status of girls
was even worse, and we studied in the Convent Girl's High
School, habituated to cultural activities and liking for such,
but nothing or no mechanism for its furtherance or collective
personality development, either in the Church or Society. But you, our juniors
were lucky to have Fr.Henry there at Barkur at right time, to
start CYM of Barkur. You ask those who deprived of.. The
importance of such Associations..! While reading the
'Archie’s Corner' about CYM's Silver Jubillee, an impressive
open INVITATION feel envy, as many like me didn’t had such
opportunities. Dear youngsters of
Barkur, this is a great gift, make the best use of it to
develop your talents, the significance of which now may be
difficult to imagine, but day will come in your life, when you
grow and your children start questioning you..? One more point
impressed me was the unity of old and present members, as I
read about some, in this site few days back. Once again,
youngsters, go-ahead, success will be yours. We join you, to
congratulate all of you, who benefited through this and pray
for the success of all events planned. Felciana D'Silva. Kuwait, felvincy13@hotmail.com,
22/11/2002 Dear Readers and
specially CYM Members & Advisors, As the roads are vital
lifelines, and there is no shortcut May I suggest ICYM, to
visit local Panchayat Members, in group, [say you have almost
100, after your every regular meetings,] and first request
them to take lead in convincing people who have to donate
land, those reluctant to give up, persuade them to accept
alternative pieces of nearby land. This to be done on war
footing, don't allow the issue to cool down. If not succeed
ask them, - lazy fellows only - to step down, from the
Panchayat, so that others, capable can take up the job. Only thing you have to
take care is to get the land cleared, which is not so easy.
But unity has strength, no leader of repute, ignore you. Wish you all the Best,
and hope to drive through during one such Road, to attend your
Celebrations in December!! M.M.Alvares, - 22/11/2002 Back in Barkur, the name synonymous with development of Roads was, Mr. Shantaharama Shetty. There stand few useful sub-roads around Barkur, to substantiate this claim. My suggestions, a rather request to my friends, in
Barkur is to approach, appeal and convince this great son of
Barkur to complete the pending mission of connecting
Kachhur-Halekody. I also feel bit improvements of existing one's and a
link to Sasthan via Moodahadu - Pandeshwar - Hosala will prove
to be a boon in the long run!! All youth organisations, including church youth club,
Mogaveera Sangha, Billavara Association, Rotary,Lions and
other public minded people should take initiative instead of
hankering to Political chamchas, known for self progress..? or
let us give long rope once again to find reasons to further
delay...! Thanks and best wishes, Congratulations (D/O. John & Joyce Gonsalves) Congratulations Joylin as you have received Jesus into your heart for the first time. May Jesus be with you to guide you and guard you throughout your life and may He keep you always in His unending love.
With love and
blessings

Castelino, redge@emirates.net.ae,21/11/2002 Dear Friends, Why only all roads,
now Barkur is gifted with a Railway Station, where, Mumbai
bound Express, and Goa train daily passenger
stops. It appears a great event is in waiting in Barkur. It is heartening and
satisfying to note your youth club reaching the land mark of
Silver Jubillee year of purposeful existence. Let this be a
model to similar units in the Varado!!! G.S.Lewis,Kallianpur, gslewis123@hotmail.com
