That is an impressive article in memory lane regarding Archiyaab (as we call him), a tall man, a pot full of spirit, who is capable of getting any work done. A good speaker, though I am a bad listener , never used to miss his speech. No one will get bored by his oratory skills. I remember his dance in "kazara matov", he got his own steps popularly known as "leg break dance of Archie". He was never tired but used to make every body dance. His favourite songs he used to sing very often were Rojalin muja Mogachem, Juliana, Anna Marie - I hope Archiyaab still remember those songs.

He never lifted a bench, but made everybody lift benches at the time of ICYM functions.

I remember when we went to him with the problem of presenting drama "Keppo Cyril" at the time of Silver Jubilee celebrations of ICYM , he really pushed us to the success.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU

Caring For Your Eyes.

The eyes are two very delicate parts of the body. The eyebrows and eyelids help to keep dust and dirt away from the eye. Tears bathe the eyes in clear liquid washing away dirt and bacteria. Although your eyes have their own limited protection system. More eye care needed to keep eyes healthy and vision clear, have your eyes checked often by a professional.

Caring for eyes.

Avoid eyestrain,

  1. Using your eyes in dim light can cause eyestrain. Good light can make reading and other close work easier.
  2. Sitting too close to the television (TV) can also cause eyestrain and headaches.
  3. Contrary to popular belief, watching TV in darkened room does cause eyestrain.
  4. Make sure your computer screen is 20 to 28 inches from your eyes and at a 10-20 degree angle.
  5. Wearing Sunglasses. Over exposure to the suns ultraviolet light (UV) can cause eye damage. Research shows too occur faster. The easiest way to protect your eyes is to wear the right sunglasses. When buying sunglasses, look for glasses that offer "100% UV protection " they do not have to cost much to give this protection.
  6. Problem of nearsighted: - Myopia or nearsightedness is when you cannot see objects at a distance. Seeing street signs. Words written on movie or TV screens, and schoolroom chalk or dry erase boards can be a problem with myopia. This eye problem starts mostly between the ages of eight and twelve. It is almost always diagnosed before age twenty. Corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses are prescribed.
  7. Problem of farsighted: - A person with farsightedness or hyperopia has trouble seeing objects up close. It tends run in families. Reading books and newspapers are a problem. To correct this problem, glasses are usually prescribed for up close work. But they are not needed for distance tasks like driving.
  8. Wearing safety glasses:- wear safety glasses while at work or play that may cause injury to your eyes. Teach your children to also wear protective glasses. Protective shields are also important during sporting events. Any flying objects like baseball, hockey puck, and racquetballs, can cause permanent eye injury. Get in the habit of protecting your eyes by wearing safety glasses or goggles. But in our villages people (mainly female) working in Paddy field, Sugar can Field, Stone crushers and many other fields without any safety precautions. Unfortunately most of them are nor aware how harmful it’s for their precious eyes! But no alternative them… they have to work and work for their daily bread.
  9. They must know about these problems and should consult ophthalmologists at least once in a year to keep their eyes healthy and excellent vision.

  10. Eye exams are very important. Since many eye disease show no immediate symptoms until the damage is done. Regular eye exams are one of the your vision and your overall health. Eye glaucoma and retinal disease, as well as diabetes and high blood pressure.

The eye cares experts.

Become the eyes are so delicate, a specialist should handle anything other than routine care. A doctor trained to treat eyes is called an ophthalmologist. He or she a medical doctor with four years training in eye care. These doctors treat eye injuries and perform eye surgery as needed. An optometrist is a person trained to prescribe corrective lenses. They conduct simple tests. And diagnose and treat some eye disease. An optician is a technician who fills prescription. They grind and fit lenses, but do not examine eyes for diseases or corrective lenses.

So, let’s pay more attention and extra care to look after our very precious parts of our body, yes…that’s our EYES!
