It is
indeed good news on the occasion of the feast of St. Peter (29th
June). I hope there is no flood in and around Barkur as it is usually
the case. We have a young and charismatic Assistant parish priest
after a long gap. Father Tony obtained the US nationality and Mr.
Fernandes is doing excellent strides in his research. Keep up the good
work James in your scientific field. I request Professor Gabriel to
shed some light on Cancer and keep the readers up-to-date. I take this
opportunity to welcome Father D'Souza in our parish and wish him a
long and happy stay. The Rotarians are doing a splendid job.
Congratulations. Wish each and every one a happy feast! James

D'Souza & Family.28/06/2003 We are delighted to see the news caption - barkur.com in News. Short introduction is catchy, but little more about few popular segments, been might have created more curiocity in News Reader's of the Gulf! Congratulations!! Philiph
Richard. 27/06/2003 What a coincidence! I had the opportunity to work on
a 24 month Carcinogenicity study (Pre-clinical safety studies in
animals), in rats, using Lansoprazole, the main/active ingredient,
mentioned by James D'Almeida in his article titled 'acidity'. This
drug is sold as Prevacid or Prevpac, to treat H. Pylori eradication to
reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer, healing of duodenal ulcer,
treatment of gastric ulcer, GastroEsophageal Refex Disease (GERD)
associated with heartburn, and erosive esophagitis, caused by
'acidity.' Perhaps, we would have had more sales of this drug, if only
all the people in the world had plenty of food available to eat! James
Fernandes, USA, 27/06/2003 Dear Mr.
James Fernandes, Thanks
for your encouraging words. I have compiled series of very informative
articles on the subject of common/chronic/hereditary ailments where
majority of the humans suffer. I am not from the medical fraternity
but am working in a medical college for the past 25 years. I hope our
readers will immensely benefit to know about the symptoms and how to
avoid such ailments. A word of caution: do not treat yourself without
consulting a qualified physician/surgeon. I will begin with
"Acidity" and feed the other articles as and when time
permits. Stay healthy and happy. James

Friends, "Christianity is not only a religion, but a way of
life" - Mr.J.P.Hegde, how Archie, missed this famous quote, I too
heard in Dec. at a public function. Understand, a wall promised, in
between Church and School, from his MLA fund, was seen execution,
within record one month time at Barkur, - surely, actions speak much
louder than speech, Congratulations Mr Hegde!! M.M.Alvares. ,
25/06/2003 Thank
you Mr. James D'Almieda. Yes, you did it. You can write too, and that
is a very informative article. That's is the Barkurian spirit. 'Rise
to the occasion', and shoulder the situation, and that's the spirit in
action. The journey begins with the first step, and your's is the
first step after all this commotion of requesting article. James
