Parish priest calls the faithful to become "truthful, responsible, and loving communicators" as longtime YCS animator is honoured for seven years of service.

The parish community gathered on Sunday, May 17, 2026, to mark two significant occasions — the Solemn Feast of the Ascension of Jesus Christ and the 60th World Communications Day — in a celebration organised by the Parish Social Communications Commission.
Parish Priest Fr. Ronald Miranda presided over the Holy Eucharist, using his homily to draw a profound connection between the two observances. He reminded the faithful that the Ascension of Jesus is the very reason for the coming of the Holy Spirit, and that this mystery plants a ray of hope in human lives according to the Father's eternal plan. He prayed that all may one day share in the Kingdom of Heaven with Christ.
Turning to the theme of World Communications Day, Fr. Ronald called upon parishioners to embrace the Gospel mission entrusted by Jesus to His disciples and to carry it forward through every available medium. He urged the community to become truthful, responsible, and loving communicators, so that this sacred mission may bear fruit even amid the challenges of the modern media landscape. Special prayers were offered for all those working in the field of communications.
The liturgy was led by Commission Convener Mr. Alfred Furtado alongside the full membership of the Social Communications Commission.
A Farewell Tribute to a Dedicated Servant
The occasion was also marked by a heartfelt felicitation honouring Sr. Jasmita Crasta, Superior of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Convent, who was recognised for her seven years of selfless service as YCS (Young Christian Students) Animator for the parish.

Fr. Ronald presented the honour on behalf of YCS members and the wider parish community, offering warm praise for her dedication and extending his best wishes for her future endeavours. Sr. Jasmita Crasta responded with words of sincere gratitude to all those she had served alongside.

Present at the ceremony were Parish Vice President Mr. Joseph Fernandes, Coordinator of the 20 Pastoral Commissions Mr. Joseph Fernandes Kudru, and incoming YCS Animator Mr. Brian D'Souza.
