Barkur Sri Panchalingeshwara Temple Rathotsava 2026 — Day 5 Celebrations

Barkur, March 24, 2026: The grand chariot festival (Rathotsava) of Sri Panchalingeshwara, the presiding deity of the historic fort town of Barkur in the Tulu Nadu region, continued with great devotion and splendour on Tuesday, marking the 5th Day of the Nagarotsava (town procession).

As part of the day's festivities, the sacred procession (Savari) made its way to the Sri Manigaarike Somanaatheshwara Temple, drawing large crowds of devotees.

The Vasantha Seva (spring worship offering) for the occasion was graciously sponsored by Smt. Saraswathi Hiriyanna Shetty and family of Nadumane, Barkur, who offered their devout services to the presiding deity.

The Kallu Chappara Vasantha Seva (spring offering at the stone pavilion) was performed by Sri M. Venkataramana Bhandarka and family of Barkur, adding further sanctity to the celebrations.

The Nagarotsava procession was made even more vibrant and spiritually enriching by a soulful Bhajana Seva (devotional singing service) rendered by the Sri Maasti Durga Mahila Bhajana Mandali of Dharmashaala, Barkur, whose melodious hymns reverberated through the streets and filled the atmosphere with divine fervour.

The festival continues to draw thousands of devotees from across the Tulu Nadu region, reflecting the deep cultural and religious significance of the Sri Panchalingeshwara temple in the heritage town of Barkur.
