Barkur, September 27, 2024 - The National PU College in Barkur held its much-anticipated parent-teacher meeting today, bringing together students, parents, and faculty in a collaborative effort to enhance educational outcomes.

The event, which took place in the college's Kala Bhuvana Auditorium, began at 2:30 PM with a prayer hymn performed by students. Notable attendees included Mr. Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of The Barkur Educational Society, who served as the Chief Guest; Mr. Gopala Naik, the Correspondent; Mr. P. Archibald Furtado, Administrative Coordinator of National Educational Institutions; and Mr. Raj Gopal Nambiar, PTA representative in the Managing Committee. Professor U. Kottraswamy, the college Principal, presided over the proceedings.

In his keynote address, Mr. Shetty, a recipient of the National Best Teacher Award, highlighted the challenges facing today's youth, particularly the negative influences of social media and excessive mobile phone use. He emphasized the joint responsibility of parents and educators in guiding students through these potential pitfalls.

"We've made arrangements for all infrastructure facilities to ensure a healthy learning atmosphere," Mr. Shetty assured the gathered parents. "However, it's crucial that parents remain vigilant and provide loving care at home."

Mr. Gopala Naik, Correspondent for both the PU and High School, stressed the institution's focus on character building and holistic development. He encouraged parents to support their children's learning process at home.

Principal Kottraswamy underscored the importance of parental involvement in students' daily routines and regular attendance. "Your sons and daughters are ours while they are on campus," he stated. "Each student is valuable, and their life, studies, and career are our priority."

The meeting provided an opportunity for parents to review their children's progress reports and attendance records. Faculty members from various departments were available for one-on-one consultations, allowing for personalized discussions about each student's performance and potential areas for improvement.

Many parents expressed appreciation for the event, with several calling for such meetings to be held more frequently. The gathering was seen as a crucial step in fostering a strong partnership between the college and families, aimed at nurturing young minds and guiding them towards successful futures.

As the event concluded, there was a palpable sense of commitment from all parties to work together in supporting the students' educational journeys. This collaborative approach promises to enhance the overall learning experience at National PU College, setting a positive tone for the academic year ahead.
