ANNUAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION 2025–26

National PU College and National High School, Barkur — proudly managed by The Barkur Educational Society (Regd.) — celebrated a spirited and memorable Annual Sports Day on 26th November 2025. The entire campus came alive with colour, energy and youthful enthusiasm as students, staff, alumni and well-wishers gathered to celebrate this much-awaited event.




The programme commenced promptly at 9:45 AM with a meaningful prayer by the students. Principal, NPUC Mrs. Usha Kiran Shetty welcomed the dignitaries and extended her inspiring message, encouraging every student to participate wholeheartedly and embrace the spirit of sportsmanship.
Presidential Address:
The event was presided over by Mr. Shedikodlu Vittal Shetty, Vice President, The Barkur Educational Society (Regd.).In his address, he fondly recalled his own high school days and reassured the students that the Management remains fully committed to providing the best facilities and opportunities—both in academics and in sports.




Guest of Honour Mr. Raj Gopal Nambiar, Correspondent of NPUC & NHS, received the impressive salutes from the marching squads and NCC. He conveyed his best wishes to all the young athletes and applauded the dedicated efforts of the Principal, Headmistress, Physical Education Lecturers Mr. Umesh Shetty & Mr. A.H. Gowda, and all staff members for organising the event in such a systematic and disciplined manner.
Mr. Archibald Furtado, Admin Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions, hoisted the College Flag. In his short message, he appreciated the disciplined march-past and encouraged the students to give their best in both track and field events.




Senior science teacher Mrs. Jyothi Shetty compered the programme with elegance and clarity, adding grace to every announcement with her crisp narration.
The stage programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mrs. Hemavathy P.S., Headmistress, who expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.
Active Participation of Staff & Students
The success of the Sports Day was amplified by the enthusiastic and tireless involvement of the entire teaching and non-teaching staff, along with students of both institutions. Their unity, teamwork and dedication ensured a vibrant and smoothly coordinated event, marked by near 100% participation.
A Celebration of Legacy & Growth
The Sports Day 2025–26 served not only as a platform for healthy competition but also as a reminder of the rich legacy of National High School and National PU College. It reinforced the institution’s unwavering commitment to quality education, discipline, character formation, and the holistic development of students — nurturing both mind and body.
