The Barkur Rotary Club, a proud member of Rotary International District 3182, Zone 3, held its annual Installation Ceremony on Sunday, 28th June 2026, at the Sankamma Thayi Resort, Barkur. The occasion brought together Rotarians, dignitaries, and guests in a spirit of fellowship and renewed commitment to the ideals of service above self.
The investiture of the incoming office-bearers was conducted by Rtn. Vasantha Hobalidhar, designated District Governor for 2027-28, District 3182, who administered the oath of office to the newly elected leadership team in a formal and dignified ceremony.

Sri H. Ajith Kumar Shetty was installed as the new President of the Barkur Rotary Club, and Sri Ganesha Acharya assumed charge as Secretary for the incoming year. Their installation marks the beginning of a fresh chapter for the club, with a committed team in place to carry forward the club's legacy of community service and social impact.


The following office-bearers were inducted into their respective roles: Sri Bhaskar Pujari as President-Elect for 2027-28; Rtn. Ananda Shetty as Zone Trainer; Rtn. B. Ratnakara Shetty as Joint Secretary; Rtn. U. K. Vasudeva Shetty as Treasurer; Rtn. R. Ratnakara Shetty as Director of Club Service; Rtn. Abdul Mubarak as Director of Vocational Service; Rtn. Seetharama S. as Director of Community Service; Rtn. Kishori S. Shetty as Director of International Service; Rtn. Charan Shetty as Youth Service Director; Rtn. Gangadhara Joshi as Sergeant-at-Arms; Rtn. Harish Kundar as Membership Chairman; Rtn. Srinivasa Shettigar as Rotary Foundation Chair; Rtn. Ganesha Shetty as Public Image Chair; Rtn. A. Ratnakara Shetty as Polio Plus Chair; Rtn. Prakash Tantri as Website In-charge; Sri Raju Pujari as District Projects Chair; and Sri Subramanya N. Pujari as RCC Co-ordinator. The members of the RCC team were also formally introduced to the gathering on this occasion.
A Salute to Academic Excellence
One of the most heartwarming moments of the evening was the recognition of outstanding academic achievers from the region. Students who had excelled in the SSLC and PUC examinations this year were felicitated by the club in a gesture that underlined Rotary's abiding commitment to education and the encouragement of young talent.



A special highlight was the felicitation of Kumari Gayatri Shettigar, a student of Barkur National Junior College and daughter of Sri Jaya Shettigar and Smt. Padmini Shettigar, who brought tremendous pride to her school and her town by scoring an exceptional 616 marks in the SSLC examinations, securing the 10th Rank at the state level. Her achievement was met with warm applause from the gathering, and the club honoured her with a citation and felicitation as a mark of deep appreciation for her outstanding performance.
The ceremony was attended by Presidents and members of the Brahmavara and Sastan Rotary Clubs, members of the Barkur Rotary Club, Anns Club members, RCC members, and a large gathering of well-wishers and guests who came together to celebrate a new year of purposeful service and community engagement.
