Rotary District Governor CA Dev Anand Visits Barkur Rotary Club, Inaugurates Multiple Community Projects

October 27, 2024 - Rotary District 3182 Governor CA Dev Anand made a significant visit to the Rotary Club of Barkur, participating in several community service initiatives and infrastructure development projects across the region.

In a ceremony near the Barkur Primary Health Center, a new passenger shelter was dedicated to the memory of the late Sri B.M. Krishna Poojari of Maski Bailu. The shelter, sponsored by the Barkur Rotary Club in collaboration with Rakshith Barkur and Rajath Barkur, was officially handed over to the community in the presence of District Governor CA Dev Anand.

The event was attended by several distinguished Rotary officials including Assistant Governor Rekha Devanand, Zonal Lieutenant Raghavendra Samaga, and Lieutenant Rajarama Shetty. Local community leaders, including Yadtadi Panchayat President Prakash Shetty and Sri Srinivas Shettigar of Rangankere, were also present. The Rotary Club of Barkur was represented by President B. Ganesh Shetty and Secretary H. Ajith Kumar Shetty.

The District Governor's visit included the inauguration of several other significant projects:

- A newly developed garden at the Heradi SVVN English Medium School, sponsored by the Barkur Rotary Club

- Donation of an inverter battery system to Kavadi Government High School

Both these initiatives were supported by Kishoo Enterprises, Daijiworld Udupi.

- Inauguration of a passenger shelter at Barkur Railway Station, constructed with the support of late N. Bhojaraja Shetty of Nadooru and Srinivas Shettigar of Rangankere

The events were well-attended by Rotary Club office bearers, members, and ANNS Club members, demonstrating the strong community engagement and service orientation of the Barkur Rotary Club. Notable attendees included Rakshith Poojari Barkur, Rajath Poojari Barkur, and Sri Alwyn Andrade, along with various other Rotary officials and members.

These initiatives reflect the Rotary Club's commitment to improving community infrastructure and public facilities in the Barkur region, continuing their tradition of service above self. The projects specifically address the needs of travelers, students, and the general public, enhancing the quality of life in the local community.

The District Governor's visit has not only inaugurated these valuable community assets but also reinforced the strong bond between Rotary District 3182 and the local community of Barkur, setting a positive precedent for future service initiatives in the region.
