Dr. Hemant Kamat:
It's an enlightening article on moral values.   I am not qualified to comment on any of its contents.  My request to you is please further expand on whether "poverty, hunger, disease, or illiteracy" have any effect in practicing "moral values".   Are these interrelated?   Thank you.

Austin Runs for Vice District Governor of District 1-A

I am thrilled to know that Lion Austin D'Souza Prabhu is running for the most coveted post of Vice District Governor in the Lion's Club's mother district, District 1-A, Chicago area.  When Austin writes, people read, when Austin speaks, audience listens, but then, when Austin runs no one else wins!  Such is my wish.  Congratulations, well in advance!

A BIG THANK YOU!

Dear Mr. Rebello, President, and Mr.Archibald Furtado, Secretary of ICYM Barkur,Ex-Member's Association,

I was  very delighted to read your kind message on this very auspicious Dr. Martin Luther Kings Birthday, here in USA. assuring your newly established Associations assurance, encouragement and kind moral support towards us to continue to establish in coming days "Village to College" Scholarship Fund in Barkur. This instant recognition from your esteemed members is indeed very assuring to try to raise some new funds in coming years from my side, and I am also counting some kind of help if possible from your end too!!. As you are all very seasoned and experienced members in supporting several charitable undertakings in Barkur for the past several years,  I am looking forward to receive your kind guidance in establishing this small scholarship programme primarily designed to assist a few very needy students from nearby villages to obtain a College degree which is so very vital with my own personal experiences for lifting a family from their hardships.

I am immensely grateful to Kishoo for   facilitating in forwarding this message to all Ex- Members and other sympathetic viewers of this exciting web site and I am hoping to receive encouragement from all of you in coming years. Indeed I am very happy  James has assured his  help and he is joining with me in establishing this small endeavor.

With my respectful regards to all Ex-members and God Bless you!!

Sincerely,

Gabriel Fernandes, PhD, Professor, Department of medicine,University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dear Friends,

We were fortunate to see it live on "ICYM Annual Day" on 18th Dec - 2002, a wonderful performance - 'vande matarum' by the talented Mary knoll High school students.

Congratulations to all artists and the trainers deserve special pat, for bringing out the best from their students!!!

It may not be good on my part, if repeat the same song for regular up-dates in your popular segments..........?

Dear Barkurian's,

The twin messages appeared simultaneously, in our web-pages today, the former from the desk of Parish Priest Rev.Fr.Sylvestor D'Souza and the latter by 'priest in waiting' -  Vijay Victor Lobo, in the form of a poem, are meaningful and contain heavy weight! Thanks and Congratulations!!!

I pray, to Almighty, after ordination, in April,2003, let these two priests - a combination of experience and modern thoughts, serve together in this historical parish of St.Peter.

With regards,

One parishner. 18/01/2003
