Optimist/Pessimist: A story is told of a father who had twin sons. One son was an optimist, the other a pessimist. On the twins' birthday, while the boys were at school, the father loaded the pessimist's room with every imaginable toy and game. The optimist's room he placed some horse manure. That night the father passed by the pessimist's room and found him sitting amid his new gifts crying bitterly. "Why are you crying?" the father asked. "Look what you have done to me Pop. I am crying because my friends will be jealous, and I'll have to read the instructions, and I'll constantly need batteries, my toys will get broken, where will I stack them, and look with all these toys I will never be able to study." answered the pessimist. Passing the optimist's room, the father found him dancing for joy around the pile of manure. "What are you so happy about?" asked the father. To which the optimist replied, "There's got to be a pony in here somewhere! I am going to ride him in the morning!"

Questions put up by Mr. Philiph, to the panel looks interesting and precise. Now not only he, wants answers, but people like me, too curious to know about few facts, panel member's make it fast...!

The Question, why barkur.com contain or entertain articles only in English is to be answered with an wider perspective, as all of us know, if an article / message is sent in any language our host surely publish them, no language bar, for as it is said 'garbage in garbage out' - "u send v flash", is the doctrine, nothing else.

I am a long time friend of your Barkur priest, Fr. Tony Andrade of St. Paul's Diocese of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Fr. tony visited me briefly for the Ordination to the Priesthood of a former Mangalorean here in our Diocese of Calgary in July of 2002. About a month back, I got a mail from you to inform your plan to start Q/A Section in BARKUR ON-LINE, and asked me too to be in the answering panel……. and I expressed my inability but assured my questions time to time… now again the topic come up … and in continuation of Mr G.S. Lewis and the followed clarifications by Mr. James Fernandez, herewith forwarding few questions to you….

MAY I HAVE YOUR ANSWERS PLEASE……… TO THE FOLLOWING……..!

1) Understand earlier there was a Church at Barkur, dedicated to Mary the Mother of Holy Rosary, could you tell me when and how St Peter become our patron?

2) Why majority of women get fat after marriage?

3) Why Barkur.com contain or entertain articles in English only?

4) Compared to all the neighbouring churches, say Sastan, Brahmmavar, Mount Rosary Santhekatte, Udyavar, Udupi etc, where number of Parishners & the number of families residing, is increasing, every year, at a rapid rate, why at Barkur, it is decreasing at an alarming rate?

5) Heard of Two WELLS at Barkur – SIDDA RASA AND PADARASA, in the former if you put an iron rod it becomes Silver and the latter if you put copper it becomes Gold – Is there any credence to this or just bluffing!

6) Heard the First District Court was situated at Barkur, as well as a Gold / Silver Coin minting workshop and a Theatre  - where they actually located any clues…..!

I saw this site accidentally. But its very nice.... I am also a Barkurian.. I did my PU in NJC Barkur...its a very good effort from the team who developed this site...
