A well deserved man well recognised, by the Church, in the form of Mr Jayaprakash Hegde!

Vincent D'Souza, 22/09/2004

We are in receipt of Pedruchi Chavi - UAE Special. Happy to know that much awaited Hall Project got started. P.J.D'Souza's poems caught our attention. It is a wonderful booklet in total. Thanks Mr. James for your clarrification. Yes Sr. Consillia is POM over here too, congratulations!

Personally I hate to love Politicians....! Mr Hegde is rare breed, earned a name not only for himself but brought credit to his constituency, being an Independent MLA by winning three times and many developmental works here!! Happy to hear that by Dec 04 Bridge will be repaired - Keep up your promises Mr Hegde.

Wish all visitors of this site and your families a happy feast of Ganesh Chathurthi. Really we are very happy to read about 150 year celebration of Great Saint and social worker Shri Narayana Guru at Barkur. Is it not a great co-incident in the same year Barkur had its Historical Church?

Pedruchi Chavei, such a powerful news paper, issued quarterly or so, with such rich articles, supported by such rich expensive advertisements, at the cost paid for by advertisers, or sponsors, deserves merit indeed. In order to put this Pedruchi chaavi on Barkuronline, permission is needed to begin with. Secondly, so many pages take up computer memory, hence, sophisticated computer systems are needed. Then there is the labour and time for loading, copying, color pictures, etc. Since, Kishoo has not got a Naya Paisa for keeping this Bartkuronline alive so far, I feel, I wonder, whether he can really afford publishing this paper online. I guess, if anyone wants to be in the mailing list, I guess, Pedruchi Chaavi might be glad to honor any request. May be Pedruchi Chaavi may have their own website in the near future! As mentioned by Kishoo, I guess, he is not in a position. I am happy, to see Barkuronline.com is alive and well, if not fat! I guess, it's possible to clap with one hand!

We had a wonderful Monthi-feast this time. Thanks a million for all who involved having Bishop of Mangalore amidst us. Understand while having glance at snaps, that Barkur too celebrated it with its ancient beauty. Many may not know this mile+ procession is a specialty of Barkur. In other places it is very short within the Church Compound. Now it is time to wait for Pedruchi Chavi Dubai special. It is a best suggestion, I think barkuronline floated, last year or so, now realised by bringing special issues like Mumbai, Muscat, and Dubai and so on... Issue after issue, be fat, attractive and healthy. Sometime back, people asked host Kishoo Barkur to have this booklet on line. Any steps taken at this direction? Wish you all a Happy Feast once again!

Felciana D'Silva, Kuwait, 14/09/2004

Sincerely, right now we are not in a position to have  Pedruchi Chavi online. Sorry for that.-Kishoo

I am very happy to go through the news coverage about the Monthi Feast at  Barkur and parish bulletin also released on this occasion.  Barkur is fortunate to have Best Teachers and please accept our compliments too.

Vincent D'Souza, 14/09/2004

Welcome to season of flowers and nativity of blessed virgin on 8th   September - the entire gulf is gearing-up for this occasion in a very special way. Also it is a great family feast back at Barkur and elsewhere. Fr Joseph Anthony may be having some special articles in store!

Congratulations, MR SUDHAKAR RAO, the graduate Headmaster of National Primary School, Hanehalli Barkur, on being honoured as 'Best Teacher' in the District of Udupi, for the year, 2004. We at Barkur online, recall the contributions of Mr Rao, over the years not only in the field of Education but every creative walks of life at and around Barkur. Be the Teacher's Day, 5th September, more meaningful to Barkurian's this year - with one of its own, recognised at the District Level.

Thank you Fr. Tony and your Parishioners, Vincent, Felciana and others for your kind words and prayers for Sr. Helen Fernandes. She is undergoing treatment and recovery is in progress. Felciana: to serve in Hyderabad, was Helen's superiors' decision, primarily, due to the presence of the hospital. I also want to take this opportunity to mention that there are several nuns like her and priests too, working hard to help the sick, poor, less informed, and hungry ones. I personally would like to write about them and get published in this website, if information is made available to me. Thank you all.
