Rotaract Club Inauguration and Awareness Workshop Held at Barkur College

The Rotary Club of Barkur, in association with Smt. Rukmini Shedthi Memorial National Government First Grade College and Centre for Post Graduate Studies, Barkur, organised the inauguration of the new Rotaract Club along with an awareness workshop on de-addiction and eradication of drug abuse and cyber crimes.

The programme was presided over by Rtn. H. Ajit Kumar Shetty. On the dais, Prof. Bhaskar Shetty S. served as the inaugurator, Rtn. Reshma Ramesh as the installing officer, and Ashrita A. Shetty (Police Sub-Inspector) as the resource person. The chief guests included Rtn. Vijay Kumar Shetty (Assistant Governor), Rtn. Seetharam (Zone Representative), Rtn. Vinay Kumar (Rotaract Chairman), Sri Chandra S. (Assistant Lecturer and Faculty Coordinator of the Rotaract Club), Rotary Secretary B. Ganesh Acharya, along with the new Rotaract Club's president Bhoomika Shetty and secretary Shravya, who were also present.

B. Ratnakar Shetty presented the collar badge of office to the president. Students led the invocation prayer. Principal Prof. Bhaskar Shetty welcomed the gathering and formally inaugurated the event by watering a sapling. Rtn. Reshma Ramesh administered the oath of office to the new Rotaract president Bhoomika Shetty and secretary Shravya. In her address, newly-installed president Bhoomika Shetty shared her thoughts and introduced the new team's members. Rtn. Reshma Ramesh also spoke about the objectives and activities of Rotaract.

Assistant Governor Rtn. Vijay Kumar Shetty expressed his happiness over the Barkur Rotary Club's initiative in establishing the new Rotaract Club. Rtn. Seetharam S. also shared his views on the occasion.

Resource person Ashrita Shetty and installing officer Rtn. Reshma Ramesh were felicitated with mementos. Bhoomika Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.

Following the inaugural session, resource person Ashrita A. Shetty delivered an informative and well-received talk on de-addiction and eradication of drug abuse, as well as on cyber crimes. Around 150 students took part in the programme. Sponsorship for refreshments was provided by Rtn. Vinay Kumar.
