Mr. Barkur Sudhakar Shetty
Barkuronline is proud to present our prominent Barkur Doddamane Sudhakar Shetty as our POM. He was born at Barkur on 15 .04.1944 in a middle class hardworking farming land lord family. His house was just hop, step, and jump from the Barkur high school, whereas I had to walk three and a half mile one way, which causes me to believe that success is proportionate to the proximity to knowledge, literally! Nice to see him now become a Dodda Manushyaru, a prominent man raised in the Doddamane. Not just a well built handsome big man, not just a fat wallet rich man, not merely a profit oriented business man, but a great, a generous, kind, and a godly man. Barkur history books will carry his name for centuries to come. He completed his early education up to SSLC at Barkur and migrated to Bombay, now Mumbai in search of job and for higher education. Worked in a small private company for one year and then joined RCF, did his Diploma in Chemical engineering at Sindri in the State of Bihar and returned to Mumbai and joined regular services at RCF Mumbai. He then changed his job to NOCIL for better prospects and served there for twelve years in various chemical plant operations and started his own company, manufacturing specialty chemicals since 1979. Presently the following well reputed companies, well known in India and abroad, are under his superb administration:
Vasudha Chemicals Pvt. Ltd, Taloja (Manufacturing and Exporting Specialty Chemicals to USA, Japan, Germany, U K, and other countries.)
Deltakem Business centre. Worli, Mumbai.
Shan Hotels Private Ltd. (Renamed Rukmini Residency-Udupi.)
Maasthi products Private Ltd. Bangalore.
Trustee Rukmini Shedthi Memorial Sudhakar Shetty Welfare Trust, Mumbai.
He is also an active member of the following organizations:

He has been highly active in promoting children’s education and welfare and other charitable activities like health and welfare of children and elderly persons, a project initiated by his father, a man of generous heart with meager resources, as most of us Barkurians were! This project also provides midday lunch to several hundred elementary school children.
By providing financial assistance to Rukmini Shedthi Memorial National Upper Primary School at Barkur, and as one of the promoter of Rukmini Shedthi Memorial National 1st Grade Government College-Barkur and as the main donor for the entire project, Mr. Sudhakar Shetty is shining indeed.
He is happily married to Mrs. Sucheta Shetty and is blessed with one Son and two daughters. Elder daughter is married and younger daughter is working for a Swiss bank in Stamford, USA, after completing her studies in Business Management & Finance in USA. Son is a Chemical Engineer from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal and is assisting his father in looking after the vast businesses.
Sudhakar travels all the time, Barkur, Udipi, Bombay and abroad. He was seen at the Barkur College construction site quite often to ensure that the high quality building materials are used for which due payments are made. His active participation in all aspects of his businesses has helped him gain good profits. He has employed several hundred people and has helped them grow to become tax paying citizens, and has touched the hearts of many. A man of immense generosity and compassion, indeed. Not all share their newly found wealth, but Shree Sudhakar Shetty has returned his wealth in multiple fold.
Barkuronline wishes him further success in all his future endeavors.
