Retired Teacher U. Nagappa, Kurady 89, breathed his last today, 1st October, 2022, at his daughter’s house in Brahmmavar.
He started his career as a teacher in Fisheries School, Bengre and later promoted as Hindi Teacher in Hakkladi High School. Thereafter served in Tekkatte Junior College, for its High School Section.
Apart from being a good educationist, he gained and inherited vast knowledge and information about the cultural roots and traditions of Mogaveera / Fisheries Communities of Coastal Karnataka and earnestly and tirelessly worked for their unity, welfare and organisation.
He held various posts of responsibilities in a number of reputed platforms including President of Koorady Mogaveera Grama Sabha, United Mogaveera Confederation Barakuru as its Secretary, as well as an active member in Dakshina Kannada District Mogaveera Mahajana Association etc.
