Roshan Lobo, the golden boy from Barkur continues his winning spree. Sometime we at barkuronline.com feel tired of reporting his success stories, but this young boy hailing from Hosala, son of Charles Lobo and Philomena Lobo from Barkur is never tired and winning these titles is like child’s play as he has won already many medals.
This time he added 4 more medals in Asian power lifting championship, Classical unequipped men n women competition, held at Coiambatore in Tamilnadu. He won 4 medals in total. 1 bronze medal each in Squat and Bench category and a Silver in Dead category. Overall Bronze medal. He bagged these medals in 93 KG division in the competitions where teams from 20 countries like Pakistan Japan, Uzbekistan, Magnolia, Iran, Iraq etc participated.
He had won gold medal in Goa state power lifting competition and awarded the title "Strong man of Goa" this year and Gold Medal at Maharastra State level Weight Lifting Competitions held at Akola, Maharastra, and silver medals in the weight lifting competitions held during the year 2008-09 in Goa, and also in 2004-05 at the Mangalore University level, in Mulki. He has also represented Udupi district in weight lifting competitions and won medals. He had taken part in the state level ball badminton competition too on behalf of Udupi district.
It may be recalled here that, Roshan represented India in the Asian Power Lifting Championship held at the Ulan Bator, capital of Mangolia, where candidates from 18 Asian countries participated.
