The talented team of singers from Barkur, lead by Mr Eric Soans Barkur, bagged a place for second year in a row, in the Prestigious 12th edition of Konkani Singing Competition held at Pangala, organized by I.C.Y.M Pangala.
This competition is conducted every year by I.C.Y.M has created its niche in Udupi diocese. Organising such an event for 12th consecutive year is a commendable achievement. This event was webcasted live by our very own www.daijiworld.com, enabling the music lovers all over the world to be audience.
A team of 20 Barkurian Singers participated in all the categories of competition. The kids and elder participants bagged prizes in the duet and group categories, enabling the team of St Peter Church Barkur to win Second Runners up Trophy Overall, behind Pethri and Pangala who won First Runners Up and Championship respectively. The following are the prizes won by the contestants.
