Barkur Government First Grade College Hosts Annual Day Celebration for 2024-25

Barkur, March 28, 2025 – The Shrimati Rukmini Shetty Memorial National Government First Grade College and Postgraduate Study Centre, Barkur celebrated its Annual Day for the academic year 2024-25 with grandeur on Friday, March 28, 2025, in the college premises. The event was marked by a series of cultural performances, inspiring speeches, and a gathering of esteemed dignitaries, faculty, and students.

The ceremony was presided over by Honorable MLA of Kundapura Assembly Constituency and Chairman of the College Development Committee, Shri Kiran Kumar Kodgi. He addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of education in shaping the future of students and the need for continuous development in the institution.

The event was graced by distinguished chief guests, including:

  • Prof. Gauri S. Bhat, Lecturer at Dr. G. Shankar Government First Grade College, Ajjarkadu, Udupi

The celebration witnessed active participation from the students and faculty members. The cultural committee coordinator, Lolakshi, along with student welfare officer Harish C.K., student union president Swati, and cultural secretary Vismit Sumangala, played a vital role in organizing the event. The presence of both teaching and non-teaching staff, along with representatives from the College Development Committee, alumni association, and parent-teacher association, added to the vibrancy of the occasion.

The highlight of the event was the annual report presentation by the college principal, Prof. Bhaskar Shetty Salwadi, who outlined the achievements of the institution and students in academics, extracurricular activities, and community engagement. Following this, Commerce Lecturer Lolakshi delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all those who contributed to the success of the event. The program was eloquently compered by Kannada Lecturer Shailaja Shetty.

The event concluded with a spectacular display of various cultural performances by the students, showcasing their talent in music, dance, and drama, making the Annual Day a memorable celebration.
