Barkur welcomes the New Year 2022 in style

The well decorated compound and the artistic Church of the St Peter in Barkur was near to its capacity, daring a rare cold weather in this winter, with hundreds of devotees assembled to give thanks to the Lord for his bountiful blessings throughout just concluded 2021, during the solemn benediction of the Holy Sacrament led by its Vicar Rev. Fr. Philip Neri Aranha.

In the followed holy Eucharist at 8.00 pm the main celebrant was native Priest Fr Tony Andrade concelebrated with Parish Priest and guest priest Fr Dominic Sequeira who broke the word of God and in his meaningful homily, outlined how one can be a changed person in the New Year…? His short stories caught the attention of listeners which passed on the impressive messages and insightful thoughts in the minds of attentive faithful….!

The pirjenth, the main sponsor of the Holy Mass Mrs Janet Lasrado, Nagermutt were honoured with a decorated Candle as a mark of respect and gartitudes.

Vicar took the opportunity to extend warm greetings on this joyous occasion of welcoming New Year 2022, to all parishioners, both at home and abroad with good health, prosperity and wellbeing.
