UDUPI - Young athlete Nishmitha Gonsalves from Barkur delivered an outstanding performance at the Udupi Diocesan Level Sports Meet 'SPORTIFY' 25, claiming three medals in a display of athletic excellence that has brought pride to her community.
The annual sporting extravaganza, held on May 25th at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium in Udupi Ajjarkad, witnessed fierce competition as athletes from across the diocese gathered for the Inter-Deanery championship organized by the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM). This year's edition was hosted by the Udupi Deanery.
Representing the Kallianpur Deanery, Nishmitha demonstrated remarkable versatility across multiple track events. Her medal haul included a silver medal in the relay race, another silver in the challenging 1500-meter distance event, and a bronze medal in the 800-meter race.
The triple medal achievement in a single meet highlights Nishmitha's dedication to athletics and her prowess in both middle and long-distance running events. Her performance has been particularly noteworthy given the high level of competition at the diocesan level, where top athletes from various deaneries compete for supremacy.
