Sweezal Furtado's Journey from Ignite India Meraki Fashion Competition to International Success

Barkur's very own Sweezal Furtado has made the town proud by clinching the coveted title of Miss Teen Universal 2023, International Princess at the recently concluded Miss Teen International Pageant held in Peru.She also won the Title Miss Teen Universal Asia and Best National Costume Award.
The 18-year-old beauty, hailed as "South India's Supermodel," has been making waves in the fashion industry and her latest achievement only solidifies her position as a rising star.
Sweezal, born in 2004, demonstrated her talent and charisma from a young age, enchanting audiences with her performances in various cultural programs organized by KONCAB at the Bengaluru level. Her exceptional abilities earned her numerous accolades and prizes, including a notable achievement in the Kavita Trust Poetry Recitation competition in 2019, where she advanced to the national level.
Besides her flair for poetry, Sweezal is also an accomplished dancer. Her captivating routine to the popular song 'Nach Meri Rani' even caught the attention of renowned singer Guru Randhawa, who acknowledged her talent by tagging her in a social media post. Sweezal's diverse artistic abilities, coupled with her dedication to fashion, drew her towards the world of modeling.
Her journey into the fashion industry commenced when Sweezal emerged as one of the winners in the Ignite India Meraki Fashion Competition held in Bengaluru in February 2021. She was crowned as the "Fresh Face of Ignite India 2021," showcasing her raw potential and undeniable charm.
Sweezal's triumphant stride continued as she secured the title of MISS SUPERMODEL INDIA 2022 2ND RUNNER UP in the prestigious STAR Entertainment Production held at The Leela Palace, New Delhi. This achievement paved the way for her current reign as Miss Teen Universal India 2023, a testament to her growing prominence in the national and international pageant circuit.
With her sights set on global recognition, Sweezal journeyed to Peru to represent her country at the Miss Teen International Pageant. Amidst fierce competition, she managed to capture the hearts of the judges, ultimately being crowned Miss Teen International Princess. The title of Miss Teen International was won by Miss USA, highlighting the exceptional talent and diversity showcased during the competition.
Sweezal's passion for fashion and modeling has propelled her to pursue training in the field while concurrently studying at Mount Carmel PU College in Bengaluru. Her relentless dedication and unwavering commitment have undoubtedly laid the groundwork for a promising future in the fashion industry.
