March 1, 2026 — Catechism Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion, bringing together children, teachers, and parish leaders for a day filled with faith, recognition, and community spirit.

The day commenced with a morning Mass, setting a spiritual tone for the celebrations that followed. The congregation then gathered in the church main hall, where beverages and snacks were served as children and teachers of the Catechism programme presented an informative and entertaining programme that was appreciated by all in attendance.

The highlight of the day was a felicitation function presided over by Vicar Fr. Ronald Miranda. Among the dignitaries present were Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council Mr. Joseph Fernandes, Secretary Mrs. Sabita Picardo, Pastoral Council Coordinator Mr. Joseph Fernandes (Kudru), and senior nun Sr. Jane Paula from the Convent.

Prizes were distributed to children who secured first, second, and third places in each Catechism class, as well as to those who achieved cent percent attendance throughout the year. A special honour was accorded to parishioner Loyal Passanha, who achieved a commendable 87% in the Udupi Diocese's Catechism public examination.

The Vicar felicitated the dedicated Catechism teachers with tokens of appreciation in recognition of their invaluable service. Teacher Shalet Dias addressed the gathering and shared her reflections on Catechism. Both Fr. Miranda and the Vice President praised the children for their commitment and expressed their appreciation for the teachers' tireless efforts.

The event was ably coordinated by teachers Sushma Carvalho and Sabita Fernandes. Alwyn D'Almeida extended the welcome address, Irene Pais presented the annual report, and Vanita Martis, Convener of the Catechism Commission, delivered the vote of thanks.

Through the dedication of its teachers and the enthusiasm of its young learners, Catechism Day was celebrated in a truly meaningful and memorable manner.
