In this jubilee year of 2025, the veneration of the holy cross was carried out at all the eight wards of Barkur parish. In its final leg, the cross was received at St, Franscis Xavier Ward, Kudru ward on September 14, 2025 from Nagarmatt ward. The cross was taken to each and every house of the ward and veneration was carried out with utmost devotion. The participation of elderly and young children on all the days in this month long event was noteworthy.
On October 19, 2025 the cross was brought back to Barkur church in a grand procession. All the ward members joined the procession along with ward representatives, ward secretary and ex-ward leaders. The procession was complete with flags, flowers and devotional songs all along the way. White clad children, showering flowers along the way added color to the process.
The cross was brough to Barkur church at 6.45am. There ward leader Mr. Joseph Fernandes handed over cross to parish priest Fr. Ronald Miranda.
The kudru ward members arranged the fellowship breakfast on this occasion.
