BARKUR – St Peter Church Barkur observed 'Mission Day' for Children on Sunday, February 8, 2026, with young members of the Missionary Movement taking center stage in leading the day's liturgy.

The celebration, organized by the Commission for Evangelization and Catechism, centered on this year's theme "Reach Out Your Hand, Hearts of Hope." Children from the Pontifical Association's Missionary Movement conducted the liturgical services, demonstrating their commitment to evangelization.

During the Eucharistic celebration, Parish Priest Fr. Ronald Miranda delivered a message urging the young faithful to embrace a missionary spirit. He encouraged them to share Christ's love with others and develop awareness of the needs facing marginalized communities.

The event was coordinated by Mrs Prafulla Rodrigues, convener of the Commission for Evangelization and Catechism. The parish community gathered to support the children as they led the worship service.

Mission Day for Children is an annual observance that aims to instill missionary values in young Catholics and encourage their active participation in the Church's evangelization efforts.
