St. Peter's Church in Barkur witnessed a joyous Christmas celebration marked by melodious carols, solemn liturgy, and vibrant community participation.

The celebration began with angelic Christmas carols performed by the Barkur Choir under the leadership of Eric Soans. The choir was accompanied by talented keyboardists Anston Dais, Noel Mendonca, and Kevon Pais, whose harmonious music set a devotional atmosphere for the gathering.

The high mass was co-celebrated by Rev. Fr. Stephen D'Souza, Chancellor of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Udupi, along with Rev. Fr. Ronald Miranda, the Parish Priest. The spiritual celebration saw overwhelming attendance from parishioners across Barkur and surrounding areas.

Following the mass, the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) organized the arrival of Santa Claus and a cake-cutting ceremony that delighted attendees, especially the children. Canara Bank and Union Bank of India generously provided cakes for all participants, exemplifying community support.

Adding to the festive spirit, Milan Suares and family from Halekodi, who hosted the mass, arranged refreshments including puffs and coffee for all attendees. Their warm hospitality was widely appreciated by the community.

The celebration showcased the strong community bonds in Barkur, with seamless coordination between church leadership, youth organizations, local banks, and generous families coming together to create a memorable Christmas for all.
