In the wake of Lockdown, for controlling the spread of Corona Virus - COVID 19, many people have come forward to help the stranded labourers and poor people across Barkur. We have been regularly reporting the same in our website.
Similar initiative has been taken up to support almost 130 needy families of Barkur, Hosala, Nalkudru, Masthinagara, Kurady, Bandimath etc. Food item packets/ kits (Rice, Sugar, Tea Powder, Onion, Refined Oil etc) distributed by the donors.

Madusudhan Kachchur, Bharath Raj Kachchur, Santhosh Kumar Shetty Nalkudru, Seetharam Shetty Nalkudru, Rathnakara Shetty Champady, Umesh Acharya Moodukeri jointly donated their part.
Taluk Panchayath Member Mr Chandrashekar Shetty, Barkur Panchayath President Mrs Shaila Dsouza, Panchayath member Mr Sharanu, Mr Laxman Poojary were present. Addressing the gathering, they stressed the importance people involving themselves in uplifting the poor in the society, specially during these times of uncertainty. More people should get inspired and come forward to do their bit for the needy.
Also the local leaders Mr Staney Pais, Santhosh Kumar Shetty, Rony Andrade, Bharath Raj Kunder were present.
The same was sent to the needy people by the help of volunteers and Panchayath members Shwranya Poojary, Laxman Poojary, Sandeep Amin and Kirthi Prasad.
