Barkur, July 23, 2025 - A free uniform distribution ceremony for Pre-University Course (PUC) students was successfully conducted today at 11:00 AM in the college auditorium of National Pre-University College, Barkur. The event was organized in collaboration with the Rotary Club Mangalore (East) and generous donors.
The ceremony was presided over by Sri B. Shantaram Shetty, President of Barkur Educational Society (R), Barkur. Sri Dinesh V. Pai, Associate Engineer & Contractor from Akhil Associates, Mangalore, served as the chief guest and principal donor for the free uniforms.
Other distinguished guests included Sri Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of Barkur Educational Society (R), Barkur; Sri Gopal Naik, Director of National Pre-University College, Barkur; Sri Archibald Purtado, Administrative Coordinator of Barkur Educational Society (R), Barkur; Srimati Usha Kiran Shetty, Principal of National Pre-University College, Barkur; and Srimati Hemavati P.S., Senior Faculty Member at the college.
Representatives from Mangalore Rotary Club (East) were present, including President Raghavendra Nellikatte and members Dheeraj, Vinod, Pradeep Kumar, Ashwatthama, Avinash, and Ramanath Shetty. The ceremony witnessed strong community participation with administrative board members, principals, senior faculty, alumni association members from both the National Pre-University College and High School divisions, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students in attendance.
During the occasion, donor Sri Dinesh V. Pai was felicitated and honored for his generous contribution to the cause. The program featured a welcome address delivered by Principal Srimati Usha Kiran Shetty, a proposal presentation by Ashok Kumar Shetty, and a vote of thanks offered by Sanskrit Lecturer Sri Shridhar Ulitaya. The entire program was anchored by Kannada Lecturer Jyoti.
This initiative represents a collaborative effort between educational institutions, service organizations, and philanthropic individuals to support students' educational needs in the community.
