1925 – 2025 | A Glorious Journey of 100 Years
Saturday, the 27th morning dawned bright and beautiful in Heradi, as the entire village woke up to witness a once-in-a-lifetime historic moment — the Grand Centenary Celebration of Heradi Primary School, marking 100 successful years of selfless service in the field of education (1925–2025).

This revered temple of learning, once the only ray of hope for poor and marginalised children of the region, stood tall celebrating its inspiring journey, having weathered countless challenges with resilience and commitment.
A Dignified Beginning
The celebrations commenced with flag hoisting by Mr. Prakash Shetty, President, Yedthadi Gram Panchayat, as students stood in reverence singing the Nadageethe followed by the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride and patriotism.

At 10.30 a.m., the dignitaries were accorded a grand ceremonial welcome from the main road amidst the rhythmic beats of Chende, while women in traditional attire offered a warm Poorna Kumbha Swagata, adding colour and cultural richness to the occasion.
Prayerful Start & Thought-Provoking Addresses
The stage programme began on a prayerful note by the students, followed by a well-crafted welcome address by Mr. Sankadi Karunakar Shetty, Chairman of the Centenary Celebration Organising Committee.
In his keynote address, the Correspondent of the School, Mr. Ratnakar Shetty, fondly remembered the visionary founder and those who made immense sacrifices to nurture the institution during difficult times. He gratefully acknowledged the invaluable support of the Shetty Brothers of M/s Vasudha Chemicals for the school’s all-round development, in their mother Mrs Rukmini Shedhi. He further highlighted the crucial role played by the Barkur Educational Society, which courageously shouldered the responsibility of running the Kannada medium school despite inherent challenges, with the support of well-wishers, alumni, and the local community.

Inspiring Inauguration
The inauguration ceremony was led by Mr. K. Prakash Shetty, noted philanthropist and Chairman of MRG Group, Bengaluru. Rising from humble rural roots to become a successful businessman, he humbly credited his success to his parents’ sacrifices, prayers, hard work, and strong foundational education. He emphasized that these values continue to inspire him to give back generously to society.
Honouring Legacy
A deeply emotional moment followed when Mrs. Durga Devi, daughter-in-law of the founder Muskibail Ramachandrayya, and wife of former Headmaster K. Vasudeva Rao, and herself a former Correspondent (1974–1981), was honoured with a traditional shawl and memento in the presence of an emotionally charged audience.
Words of Wisdom
The former State Minister and MLA of Brahmavar extended Jubilee greetings to all stakeholders and cautioned parents against being lured by glamorous English-medium schools driven by commercial motives.
Mr. Suggi Sudhakar Shetty appealed to former students to actively participate in the management and growth of their alma mater, while Mr. Damodhar Sharma delivered an inspiring message urging the younger generation to emulate successful elders and reinvent their strengths across diverse fields.
