SVVN English Medium High School, Heradi–Barkur, came alive with pride and celebration as it hosted its much-awaited Prize Distribution Day on 12th December 2025 at 9.30 a.m. The event recognized excellence in academic, cultural, sports, games, and literary activities, showcasing the all-round talent and discipline of the students.

The programme commenced on a prayerful note as the students offered a soulful hymn seeking the blessings of the Almighty. Principal Mrs. Likitha Kothari extended a warm and gracious welcome to all the dignitaries, parents, old students, and well-wishers. Popular Physical Education Director Mr. Suresh Shetty welcomed each guest florally with fresh roses.

The function was presided over by Shri Shedikodlu Vittal Shetty, Vice President of the Barkur Educational Society. In his presidential address, he called upon parents and the community to support and retain this great institution for the benefit of present and future generations,as it is your legacy and responsibility....

The Chief Guest, Prof. Venkatesh Kramadhari, Principal of National Industrial Training Institute, delivered a thought-provoking message urging students to set clear goals, respect parents, elders, and teachers, and develop self-confidence. He stressed the habit of reading something new and meaningful every day, to grow intellectually and morally.

Mrs. Lalita, CRP of Brahmmavar Cluster and Guest of Honour, congratulated the Headmistress and her dedicated team for maintaining high educational standards in this rural region.

Mr. Archibald Furtado, Admin Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions, heartily appreciated the achievers in all fields and made a special mention of the school’s outstanding sports achievements at the district, zonal, and state levels, including prizes, trophies, and shields won by the talented students.

Mr. Ramachandra Kamath, Correspondent of NITI, expressed deep appreciation for the manifold activities conducted on the campus, enriching student life.

Proud alumnus and Guests of Honour - Mr. Shreesha A. Shetty, Executive Admin and In-charge at Grasslands Developers, Manipal–Udupi, shared his nostalgic memories and expressed gratitude for his formative years at SVVN, which he said remain unforgettable.

The Correspondent of SVVN, in his heartfelt message, remembered the founders and donors of the institution. He applauded Principal Mrs. Likitha Kothari and her cohesive team for consistently upholding the dignity and reputation of SVVN and thanked parents for their continued trust and support.

PTA President Mr. Edgar Fernandes assured all support and cooperation and proudly remarked that SVVN today stands at par with the best educational institutions in the region.

Prize Distribution & Cultural Highlights

Throughout the ceremony, deserving students were honoured with prizes across multiple categories, celebrating their perseverance, excellence, and discipline.

The teachers Mrs. Jyothi Shetty and Mrs. Rakshitha Shetty coordinated the entire stage programme meticulously, with well-planned narration that kept the audience engaged and informed.

To conclude the vibrant function, Mrs. Madhushree Rao proposed a heartfelt vote of thanks,  gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the day, and extended an invitation for the Grand Finale scheduled for the next day at 5.00 p.m.

Entertainment & Community Participation

From 11.00 a.m. onwards, a series of entertainment games were organized for old students and parents, filling the campus with joy, laughter, and enthusiastic participation.
