ICYM Kallianpur Deanery and Milagres Cathedral unit organized deanery level “ Yuva Yekthar – 2015” at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall, Kallianpur on Sunday, 23rd August, 2015.
After the morning's session and lunch, singing and skit competitions were held in Milagres Tri-centenary Hall. Rev Fr. Denis Lobo of Pilar Fathers, Suraj Francis Noronha and Aruna Noronha were the judges of the competitions. Barkur Unit partictipated in the Singing competition along with other six parishes of the deanery.
Barkur unit singers group led by Franklin Fernandes secured second place in the singing competition. The group members were Dixon Fernandes, Jasmine Andrade, Reesha Andrade, Shamin Roche, Raina Rodrigues and Franklin Fernandes. Noel Mendonca was on the Keyboard.
The singers were trained by Mr Eric Soans Barkur. The song sung for the competition 'Yuvazanano Sarya Mukhaar' was written and composed by Eric Soans. They were also ably guided by Fr Valerian Mendonca who needs no introduction.
The first place was bagged by Milagres unit and third place was secured by Mt Rosary Unit.
