The ICYM Kalyanpur Deanery has released its latest Konkani short film, *Hanv Patki* (“I Am a Sinner”), on YouTube this Monti Fest. The film, which premiered at 7:00 pm, is part of Film Rush — the inter-deanery film competition organised by ICYM Udupi Diocese for Yuva Dabazo 2026.
Building on the success of their earlier acclaimed work *UNDO*, the Kalyanpur team delivers another compelling story rooted in faith, community, and local talent. Written and directed by Jeston Dias of Barkur, the film features a young cast including Abidiel, Dwayne, Prajwal, Renish, Jeston, and other talented youngsters from the deanery’s parishes.
Cinematography by Prashanth D’Souza gives the production a polished, cinematic feel that matches its emotional themes. Abidiel Sequeira Barkur appears in one of the main roles as a police constable, bringing his signature comedy style, while Dwayne Lewis, Barkur plays a landlord whose serious presence adds depth. Renish Pinto, Barkur also portrays an important role, and Prajwal DAlmeida Barkur contributed significantly to the off-screen work.
Most of the film was shot in Barkur. Two prominent locations stand out: Maryknoll Primary School, which serves as the police station, and Amma Hotel in Santhegudde.
Barkur continues to emerge as a creative hub within the Udupi Diocese’s youth filmmaking scene. With Jeston Dias at the helm and a largely local cast and crew, *Hanv Patki* reflects the town’s growing commitment to authentic regional storytelling that connects faith, community, and cinema for a wider digital audience.
