Karishma, Barkur, the Javelin Throw sensation again in Sports headlines by winning gold medal in ALL INDIA UNIVERSITY MEET held at Bhubaneswar, Orissa with a stunning performance of 52.58mtrs.
Continued efforts, dedication and the determination to achieve greater and aiming still higher, and improving her own records - is the unique quality one found in this ace sportswoman. Already her crown of success full of jewels and diamonds, in the form of trophies, medals and records.
After her B.SC studies, now continuing her post graduation in Alvas College, Moodubidre, especially the Alva’s Foundation, which is well-known for nourishing and encouraging sports and games with one of the best and modern infra structure facilities in their campus in our Coastal districts. As they rightly recognised the right talent in Karishma, and she too never disappointed….. rather made the – College, the University, and the Karnataka State proud…..with her best efforts and results…..
Few of her outstanding achievements in recent months may be listed as below:
• Won the Gold Medal in the Mangalore University level Athletic meet with a record 50.90 Meters – held in the native Alvas College Ground.
• Won Gold Medal in All India University Meet, held in Bhubaneswar, in Odhissa with spectacular record throw – 52.58 Meters
• Karishma also the recipient of Gold Medal in the just concluded Champion under 23 Category National level Sports held in New Delhi.
Team barkuronline.com congratulates the proud daughter of this historical town Barkur in her heights of achievement. Let her thirst for more and achievements may continue and one day she will be a proud Olympian from our town…!!
While looking at her rigorous training under the famed Coach Subhedar Kashinath Naik and regular practice wherever she is, including Govt Higher Primary School Barali, Heggunje Village, near Mandarthi – Kokkarnne with the support and patronage by all concerned, and most importantly her passionate urge to excel and give her best all the times, surely lead her to represent India in the International event. That is our wish and prayers.
