St. Peters Association Barkur Mumbai, popularly known as SPA Bombay, established in the year 1988, during a public function held on 17th April, 1988, at Victoria Church Hall Mahim.
Simplen P. Sequeira was the founder President, P. Archibald Furtado Secretary and Lawrence A. Sequeira was the Treasurer to start with and scores of likeminded Barkurian elders and youngsters already associated with SPCYA in 1985.
Since then no looking back and SPA has become a home away from home to Barkurians in Mumbai and a banner to support mother Church in Barkur, various general utility projects, welfare of Maryknoll School, encouragement to youth and to host mega cultural events every year both in Mumbai and Barkur.
It was a routine annual affair to celebrate Patron St Peters Titular Feast on the following Sunday after 29th June and the past two years, the Covid 19 pandemic derailed almost all public functions planned during past 18 months.
SPA dynamic leadership with Ivan M. Rebello as its President, Eric L Carvalho its Secretary and John Gonsalves Treasurer and the ever enthusiastic youngsters took initiative to celebrate the occasion in a different way.
A Thanks giving High Mass will be celebrated by the Vicar of Barkur Rev Fr Philip Neri Aranha which will be live telecast tomorrow 4th July, 2021, at 9.30 am onwards for global viewing on Barkuronline.com and in You Tube Channel.

Further, SPA has arranged a mega celebration with both present and past Members of SPA over Zoom, a Virtual Get Together at 7.15 pm onwards, comprising songs, dance, skits, games and variety entertainments.
V. Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca, Dean of Kallianpur and Rector of the Milagres Cathedral will be the Chief Guest and Rev. Fr. Philip Neri Aranha will preside over the function.
All former Presidents / Secretaries / office bearers and Members, around the globe are expected to participate in this very special and unique programme, wherein rich Barkurian talents expose and exhibit their intent and in-depth quality performances to entertain you all…..
