Contribution made in memory of Lion B. Seetharam Shetty on his birth anniversary
Barkur: The Lions Club of Barkur, in collaboration with the Champady family, has donated ₹1,00,000 towards merit-based scholarships for Industrial Training Institute (ITI) students. The contribution was made to honor the memory of the late Principal Lion B. Seetharam Shetty on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
The scholarship fund was formally accepted by the Barkur Education Society during a ceremony attended by prominent members of both organizations.
B. Shantharam Shetty, President of the Barkur Education Society, received the donation along with Vice President Shedikodlu Vittal Shetty, Secretary Ashok Kumar Shetty, and Treasurer Krishna Hebbar. Also present were Rajgopal Nambiar and retired Deputy Forest Officer Gopal Naik.
Ln. Praveen Kumar Shetty, President of the Lions Club of Barkur, and Jaikishan Shetty, representing the Champady family, presented the cheque to the Education Society. Several members of the Lions Club of Barkur were also in attendance at the event.
The scholarship initiative aims to support meritorious students pursuing technical education at ITI institutions, continuing the legacy of community service associated with the late Lion B. Seetharam Shetty.
