Makkala Sahithya Sammelana..Musical Eve

The 14th the annual MakkalaSahithyaSammelana jointly organised by Svami Vivekananda Samskrithika Kendra, www.barkuronline.com and Shanthivana Trust, Dharmasthala will be held on 14th and 15th January 2014 at  the Smt. RukminiShedthi Memorial  National First Degree College  took off with a grand procession followed by the “poorna kumbha” welcome of the dignitaries.

The 14h Children's Literary Convention, in succession, along with 8thPanchamukhiVyakthithvaVikasana Yoga Camp,  was inaugurated at 10.30 pm, by the ace lyricist of Mungaru Male fame,  poet , story writer of the Kannada film industry, Dr.Jayanth Kaikini. The collection of self written poems was  released during the convention and various symposiums on literature and poetry were presented by famous resource people. About 700-800 high school students from the Udupi District are participating in this district level convention.

 

As the tradition of the MakkalaSahithyaSammelana, the convention was be presided over by Chi. AkshayHegde  a student  9th Standard  at  Government High School, Volakadu, Udupi.  Shri UpendraNayak, President, Udupi JillaPanchayath ,  released a  collection of poems written by the children.  Central Sahithya Academy Award winning Konkani Poet Melvyn Rodrigues  was the guest of honour.  Many students with various achievements in educational and extracurricular fields were honored at this occasion.

 

Shri Neelavara Surendra Adiga, President, Udupi Jilla Kannada Sahithya Parishath, B.Bhujanga Shety, Ex President, Taluk Panchayath Udupi, Smt. Gowri V.Poojari, President, Udupi Taluk Panchayath, Shri Nagesh Shanbhag, Educational Officer , Brahmavara Zone, Shahshikanth Jain of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala, Ramaksrihna Tholpaditthya, of Shanthivana Trust, Kishore Gonsalves of www.barkuronline.com were present on the stage.

 

Highlight of this year was a Musical Programme of songs of Award winning lyricist, Poet Dr.Jayanth Kaikini on the evening of the fisrt day. The interactive live music programme was held in the presence of Jayanth himself was unique one and probably a first of its kind with live paintings by famous artists P.N. Acharya and Pradeesh.  RJ Avinash of Spandana TV anchored the show in which Dr.Nithin Acharya, Voice of Bangalore, Prajoth D’Sa of Album Udi Udi fame and Vaishnavi R, Singer if Udaya TV rendered some of the most sought after songs of Jayanth Kaikini to the jam packed audience. Manjeeth and team danced to some of the foot tapping numbers and Rajgopal and his team famous for providing music for the most of reality shows in TV provided the live music for the show. Apoorva and Anjana Mali , the tiny tots who got into the reality show “India got talent” mesmerized the audience with their splendid magic performance

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MakkalaSahithyaSammelana…. So far

 

It all started in the year 1998 with the initiation of Svami Vivekananda Samskrithika Kendra at Barkur under the guidance of Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama in commemorating the Centenary of Ramakrishna Mission. Since then the center has relentlessly worked towards the goals of developing the hidden talents in children and guiding them in total personality development by conducting various programmes for the last 16 years.

 

The first ever Makkala Sahithya Sammelana was successfully held on 4th Feb 2001 at Buddha Jayanthi Mandira Barkur  in the presence of delegates like Prof. Murulidhar Upadhya Hiriyadaka, Kooradi Seethrama Adiga,  Kota Shridhra Hande and was presided over by Harshith Sajangadde.   There was no looking back after that and the Makkala Sahithya Sammelana has come a long way in these 14 years  with an impressive list of resource persons and guests like  Dr.Gananath Ekkar, A.S.N.Hebbar, Prof .A.V.Navada, Prof. Udyvara Madhava Acharaya, H. Subrahmanya Bhat, Brahmavara, Devu Hanehalli, Kasaragod Chinna, Dr. Palthadi Ramakrishna Achar, Pandith Ramakrishna Shasthri, C.H. Krishna Shasthri Balila, S.Nithyananda Padre, Dr.M Mohan Alva, Dhundiraj, Jayanth Kaikini, Smt.Sandhya Pai, Dr.NaMogasale, Chkaravarthi Soolibele, Chandrashekara Kedlya  and many others making it a most sought after literary event in Udupi District.
