Maryknoll High School, Barkur - Election for School Pupil Leader 2023-24
On June 14, 2023, the election for the School Captain of Maryknoll High School, Barkur, for the academic year 2023-24 took place in the school auditorium. Five students from the tenth grade competed in the election. The election was conducted by the students themselves, who served as election officials, making it a special event. Each candidate was assigned a different symbol for identification purposes. The school auditorium was transformed into an election center, and the students efficiently carried out the responsibilities of election officials.
Chetan, Gautami, Shreyani, Varsha, and Aston campaigned vigorously for the election. They submitted their nomination papers and engaged in intense campaigning. The voting process began at 1:00 PM and concluded at 3:00 PM. The voters patiently stood in line, holding their voter ID cards, and cast their votes in a peaceful manner. The vote counting took place at 3:30 PM in the presence of the candidates and the election officials. Amidst great anticipation, Chetan was elected as the School Pupil Leader, receiving overwhelming support from the students. Subsequently, the Headmistress Sr. Jasmine, congratulated the candidates who participated in the election and presented them with flower bouquets.
The students who conducted the election were also recognized and awarded flower bouquets for their diligent work. The model election conducted by the students allowed them to understand the qualities of leadership and the process of selecting leaders.
