The installation ceremony for the new President, Secretary, and officials of Rotary Club Barkur for the year 2023-24 will be held on Sunday, 2nd July 2023, at 6:30 PM at the Rotary Sabha Bhavan (National Pre-University College) in Barkur.
Rtn. MPHF. B. Shekhar Shetty, District Co-Trainer of Rotary International District 3181, gracefully transferred the responsibilities to the newly appointed officials during the handover ceremony.
Taking charge as the President for the term 2023-24, Rtn. Sri Seetharam and as the Secretary, Mr. K. Babu Nayak accepted their positions with honor and enthusiasm.

Seetharam, a prominent figure in the Barkur Rotary Club, has been elected as the President for the term 2023-24. Seetharam has a long history of dedicated service, having joined Barkur National College as a Second Division Assistant in 1982 and eventually rising to the position of Chief Officer in the Revenue Department. Recently, Seetharam retired from active service but continued to engage in various social service activities.
Throughout his career, Seetharam has held different positions in diverse organizations and institutions. They have served as the Executive Director and worked in various capacities at the prestigious international organization, Shilpa Jesis. Their exceptional performance led to them being awarded the Best Jesi Center in Karnataka by Barkur Shilpa Jesis during their tenure as the Executive Director on two occasions.
Furthermore, Seetharam has actively contributed as the Executive Director of a subsidized high school and a college for Padar teachers, both located in the undivided South Kanara district. Seetharam's dedication to education has been recognized by the teaching staff association of these institutions. Additionally, they have been a member of the organizing committee for the maintenance of the Barkur Simhasana Gudde Temple and currently serve as a member of the management committee of the renowned Mahakali Devasthana.
Apart from his involvement in various organizations, Seetharam was one of the founding members of Barkur Rotary and has held multiple positions such as Executive Director, Director, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Chairperson of Matching Grant. They have also been a member of the district-level Matching Grant Committee and currently serve as the Coordinator for the district. Seetharam's rich experience extends to the role of editor of the district-level magazine.
Given his extensive experience and impeccable track record, Seetharam has been unanimously elected as the President of Barkur Rotary for the term 2023-24. This prestigious appointment is a testament to their remarkable contributions and leadership qualities.
Seetharam the former Chairman of Matching Grantbof the Rotary Club, was successful to obtain ₹6,96,000 for the "Rotary Playground" and providing benches and desks to other high schools. Additionally, he was instrumental for the contribution ₹5,00,000 to the Barkur National College. His wife, Mrs. Lakshmi Padyana, serves as the vice-principal at Govind Das Pre-University College, Surathkal.
They have two sons named Parikshit and Nischit. Parikshit is employed as an engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, and Nischit is currently studying in the 7th grade at Brahmavar SMS English Medium School.
Mr. K. Babu Nayak, who retired as the headmaster of B.M. Preparatory School in Kuraadi, has been appointed as the Barkur Rotary Club's program director.
