Barkur, Karnataka | April 2026 | SSLC Board Examination Special Report
A wave of pride and jubilation has swept across the coastal town of Barkur as two of its most cherished institutions — National High School, Barkur and SVVN English Medium High School, Heradi–Barkur — scripted history once again. Both schools, under the esteemed banner of The Barkur Educational Society, have achieved a phenomenal 100% pass result in the Karnataka SSLC Board Examination 2026. Not a single student was left behind.
What makes this triumph even more extraordinary is the fact that this is the fourth consecutive year both institutions have achieved cent percent results — and this time, they have done so with a remarkable surge in distinctions, raising the bar higher than ever before.
National High School, Barkur — A Class Act
Leading the charge for National High School is Ms. Gayathri Shettigar, who emerged as the school topper with an outstanding score of 605 out of 625 — a performance that reflects not just brilliance, but sheer determination.

The school's overall result is equally impressive: 8 Distinctions, 16 First Class, 3 Second Class and 1 Pass Class. The institution has achieved a Quality Weightage of 86.73%, earning a commendable Grade 'A' — a testament to the culture of academic rigor that defines this school.
SVVN English Medium High School, Heradi–Barkur — Setting a New Benchmark
At SVVN English Medium High School, it was Srilaxmi N. Bhat who stole the spotlight, securing the top position with a stellar 608 out of 625. Her score is among the finest in the region and a source of immense pride for her school and family.

The school's performance as a whole is nothing short of spectacular: 18 Distinctions, 19 First Class, 2 Second Class and 1 Pass Class. With 18 distinctions — the highest across both institutions — SVVN has signalled loud and clear that excellence here is not an accident; it is a carefully nurtured habit.
Four Years. Two Schools. Zero Failures.
Perhaps the most awe-inspiring element of this achievement is its consistency. For four straight years, both National High School and Shri Vidhyesha Vidya Manya National English Medium High School have sent every single student across the finish line — and improved the quality of their results each time. In a landscape where even one failure can cloud a school's reputation, this kind of sustained, institution-wide excellence is extraordinarily rare.
The Architects of This Success
Behind every gleaming result card is an army of dedicated educators who give far more than their working hours. Special appreciation is due to Headmistress Mrs. Hemavathy P.S. of National High School and Principal Mrs. Likhita Kothari of SVVN English Medium School, whose vision, discipline and care have shaped these outcomes year after year.
Equal credit belongs to every member of the teaching and non-teaching staff at both schools — the unsung heroes whose tireless preparation, patient guidance and unwavering commitment turned potential into performance.
The able leadership of Correspondents Mr. Rajaram Shetty and Mr. Rajgopal Nambiar, along with President Mr. Shantarama Shetty and all office bearers of the Barkur Educational Society, has provided the steady institutional foundation from which this excellence has grown. Their congratulations to the students and teachers are well deserved — and heartily echoed by the entire community.
A Message to the Future
To every student who passed — you did it. Your perseverance, your late nights, your trust in your teachers and in yourselves have paid off. You have not only earned a certificate; you have earned your place in a proud legacy.
And to the students who will follow in 2027 and beyond — the standard is set, the streak is alive, and the challenge is yours. Aim higher. Dream bigger. This school has shown you it is possible.
Heartiest congratulations to all!
