Much awaited River Bank Retention Wall construction project started and continuing simultaneously at two places, Kachur and Hosala Nagarmut at the banks of River Sita.
Lead by Barkur Panchayth, the project is taken up by the Minor Irrigation Department of the Government of Karnataka. Around 525 meters of river bank will be covered at Hosala Nagarmut at the cost of Rs 1.33 crores where as 403 meters is planned at Kachur at an estimated cost of Rs 1.39 crores.
Personally supervising the project, Panchayth President Shaila DSouza, thanked MLA Haladi Shrinivasa Shetty for sanctioning much needed project for Barkur. She is hopeful to get many more such development projects in the near future.
