Barkur Shourya Tanda is a group of 12 selfless individuals who are working towards the betterment of the community. They are involved in various activities such as providing food to the needy, helping people during natural calamities, and more. Recently, they were honored and received equipment from Barkur Rotary Club to help them with their work.
The group was started by Dr. Veerendra Hegde, the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala temple. The group is active in Barkur and is involved in various social activities.
At this occassion, Barkur taluk representative Mrs. Kusuma Hebbar and Mr. Raveendra Sir, the development officer of Dharmasthala Grama Vikas Bank, were honored by the Barkur Rotary Club.
It is noteworthy that, in 2022-23, under the chairmanship of Subrahmanya Poojari, Barkur Rotary Club has recognized more than 100 volunteers and achievers who were doing selfless social work silently.
Barakuru disaster management center Shourya Tanda has already been involved in tackling accidental fires that occurred around Barakuru, cleaning up temples, and sweeping the streets. Many social figures are involved in this work and are worthy of praise everywhere.
Recently they have taken up cleaning up of Katthale Basadi Area, the National Monument at Barkur.
