Students Pledge to Lead with Integrity as Distinguished Guests Urge a Values-First Approach to Education
SVVN English Medium School witnessed a momentous occasion as the School Council and a host of student clubs were formally inaugurated in a vibrant and inspiring ceremony held on the school premises. The event brought together students, staff, and esteemed guests in a spirit of celebration, reflection, and renewed commitment to holistic education.

The auspicious proceedings were set in motion with a soulful prayer rendered by Ms. Adithi Bhat, Ms. Dhrithi Shanbhouge, and Ms. Dharitri Adiga, whose melodious voices lent a devotional warmth to the occasion and drew the gathering into a spirit of reverence and focus. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Anvesha, who graciously received the distinguished invitees and set a courteous tone for the event. Mr. Aryan then formally introduced the Chief Guest, offering the audience a fitting backdrop to the accomplishments and stature of the day's principal dignitary.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Mr. Mahesh K., Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) of Kaduru Grama, Kokkarne, who served as the Chief Guest for the occasion. Presiding over the function was Mr. Rajram Shetty, whose steady presence lent a dignified authority to the proceedings. The function was formally opened by the Chief Guest, who lit the ceremonial lamp — a time-honoured tradition symbolising the dispelling of ignorance and the ushering in of knowledge and wisdom.

Addressing the student body, Mr. Mahesh K. delivered a thought-provoking speech that struck a chord with students and teachers alike. Drawing from his experience in public service, he spoke at length about the centrality of values in shaping well-rounded individuals and responsible citizens. He cautioned students against measuring their worth solely through academic scores and examination results, urging them instead to invest in the cultivation of personal character, ethical conduct, and practical skills that would serve them far beyond the classroom. His words carried the conviction of someone who has witnessed the long-term impact of values-driven leadership in public life.
Echoing these sentiments with equal vigour, President Mr. Rajram Shetty underscored the critical importance of values in navigating an increasingly complex world. In his address, he offered the assembled students a timely word of caution about the pervasive influence of social media, emphasising that while technology presents vast opportunities, it also carries significant risks of distraction and misuse. He urged the students to approach every resource and opportunity available to them with discernment and purposeful intent, reminding them that the choices made in their formative years would define the trajectory of their lives.

The Headmistress, Mrs. Likitha Kotary, delivered the introductory speech, providing an overview of the significance of the occasion and contextualising the inauguration within the school's broader vision for student empowerment and leadership development.
The heart of the ceremony was the solemn oath-taking by the newly elected members of the School Council — a moment that underlined the gravity of student leadership and the responsibilities it entails. The newly elected School Pupil Leader, Mr. Shobith Shetty, stood at the forefront, accompanied by Vice-President Mr. Likith, Sports Secretary Mr. Ayush, Health and Hygiene Secretary Ms. Anusha, and Cultural Secretary Ms. Vaishnavi Bhat. Each office-bearer took a formal oath, pledging to discharge their duties with honesty, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility towards their peers, the institution, and the wider community. The oath-taking was a stirring affirmation of the trust placed in these young leaders and their readiness to rise to the occasion.

The vote of thanks was eloquently proposed by Ms. Pratijna, who extended heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, the President, the Headmistress, the faculty, students, and all those who contributed to making the event a success. The programme was ably compered by Ms. Manasvi, whose confident and composed anchoring guided the audience seamlessly through the various segments of the function.
The successful organisation of the event was made possible by the dedicated efforts and meticulous guidance of Mrs. Jyoti Shetty and Mrs. Nagrathna Hebbar, whose behind-the-scenes coordination ensured that the ceremony unfolded with grace and precision.
The inauguration of the School Council and clubs marks not merely an administrative milestone, but a meaningful step in empowering the student community to take ownership of their school environment and develop leadership qualities that will shape their futures. As the newly sworn-in leaders take charge of their respective portfolios, the school community looks forward to a year of purposeful activity, collaborative spirit, and meaningful impact.
