BARKUR - St. Peter Church in Barkur recently received a generous donation of an LED projector from Mrs. and Mr. Fareena Deepak Sequeira, residents of Abu Dhabi. The gift was presented during a poignant ceremony marking the first anniversary of Mrs. Sequeira's mother, Late Faustine Dais.
The donation honors the memory of both Faustine and Late Charles Dais, long-time members of the Barkur community. The Sequeira family, including their children, traveled from Abu Dhabi to attend the remembrance mass and present the gift.
Rev. Fr. Ronald Miranda, Parish Priest of St. Peter Church, gratefully accepted the projector on behalf of the parish. "This donation will enhance our liturgies, catechism classes, and parish meetings," Fr. Miranda stated. "It's a beautiful way to honor the Dais family while benefiting our entire community."
Mr. Dolphy DSouza, the ward's Gurkaar, was also present, highlighting the community's appreciation for the thoughtful contribution.
Mrs. Sequeira shared, "Our parents always emphasized the importance of faith and community. We hope this projector will help strengthen both, engaging parishioners of all ages."
The LED projector is expected to improve various church activities, from displaying hymn lyrics during masses to supporting educational programs and youth events. This act of generosity not only memorializes beloved community members but also demonstrates the strong connection between Barkur natives living abroad and their hometown.
As St. Peter Church begins to utilize this new technology, the memory of Charles and Faustine Dais will continue to influence and enhance the worship experiences of future generations in Barkur.
