Stranded labourers at Barkur sent to their destinations.

As reported regularly here, 123 laborers from Utthara Kannada who were unable to travel to their native places due to the sudden announcement of nationwide lock down for Covid 19 Pandemic, were temporarily accommodated at Smt Rukmini Shedthi Memorial Government First Grade College by the Udupi District administration. 

They were sent by the District Administration, to their respective villages today (25/04/2020) on KSRTC buses as per the government directives. Brahmavar Tahasildar Kiran Gourayya, Asst.Tahasildar, Devraju, Revenue Inspector Laksminarayana Bhat, Raju, Shivamalla, Shobha Shetty of Children Development Department, Village Accountants, Girish Kumar, Cheluvaraj, Bheemaraj, Vijay Shetty, Arun, Shivaraj Kattagi, Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee B.Shantharam Shetty, Entrepreneur Shrinivasa Shettigar Ranganakere, SI of Brahmavar Police Station Raghavendra and Staff, Circle Inspector and Staff,  Medical Officer of Barkur Primary Health Center Roshni and Staff, PDO and Staff of Hanehalli Panchayath, Secretary of Rotary Club, Barkur, Sathish S.Amin, Shoukath Ali, Media Representatives Shivaram Achar Bandimata and others and Anand Kumar Barkur of Nammuru Barkur and barkuronline.com were present to send off the stranded laborers.  

All the passengers were given water bottles and snacks for their journey and each bus was accompanied by Village Accountant and Police Constables for assuring their safe travel.

Speaking on the occasion, Brahmavar Tahasildar Kiran Gourayya and SI of Brahmavar Police Station Raghavendra and expressed that this task was very challenging to District Administration and thanked all the staff and officers who toiled day and night for the successful accomplishment. They thanked Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee B.Shantharam Shetty who took the responsibility of providing breakfast to the laborers from the day one and also thanked all the generous donors and associations who supported for this.
