Seven-year-old Dhanush from Heradi, Barkur, has brought home double glory from the 22nd National Karate Championships - 2025, organized by the Karate Budokan Association in Udupi, Karnataka.
The Class 2 student of SVVN English Medium School dominated the competition, winning gold medals and championship trophies in both Kata and Kumite disciplines—a rare feat for such a young competitor.
Dhanush comes from a family of emerging sports talent. His elder brother Ajay is already making his mark at the district level in cricket and javelin throw. Their parents, Parvathi and Harish, have supported their sons' sporting ambitions despite modest means.
The double championship victory marks a promising start to what could be a stellar career in martial arts for the young champion from Barkur.
