One day Youth Convention at Barkur for the youth of Kallianpur Deanery continued after a sumptuous lunch.
Variety Entertainment Competition was the main attraction in the second half. 8 out 9 parishes participated and presented their talents on the stage. Participants had to present a Traditional Dance and a Skit on the topic ‘Life of Youth’ in 15 minutes time slot.
Mr Dolphy Mascarenhas, Mr Roshan Udyavar and Ms Sweeny D’silva were present as judges for the competition.
The convention concluded with valedictory function in the evening. Director of Barkur ICYM Unit Rev Fr Philip Neri Aranha presided over the function along with other dignitaries on the stage.
President of ICYM diocese committee Mr Inesh Miranda, president of deanery committee Mr Vijesh Dsouza, animator Mr Joel Almeida, Animator of Barkur Unit Mr Praveen Carvalho, Convener of Pastoral Commission Mr Eric Soans, Sr Jesmitha, Secretary of Parish Council Mrs Vivet Lewis, Barkur Unit President Mr Kavon Pais were present during the occasion.
Mr Dolphy Mascarenhas addressed the gathering on behalf of the judges ponying our critical aspects of the judgement and how it can be improved going forward. Diocese President Mr Inesh appreciated the efforts of the Barkur unit for meticulously organising the event and also handed over the mementoes to the participants. Barkur Unit Animator Mr Praveen Carvalho presented the momentous to the judges. Rev Fr Philip Neri Aranha delivered the presidential address.
Mr Eric Soans announced the names of the winners.
Kolalgiri ICYM Unit bagged the prize for highest number of participation for the event.
Sasthan ICYM Unit took home the Runners Up trophy in Variety Entertainment Competition.

Secretary Jasmine Dsouza delivered the vote of thanks. Ms Alita Fernandes anchored the Inaugural Function and Cultural Secretary Ms Riona Mascarenhas anchored the valedictory program.
