Catechism Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at St.Peter Church, Barkur

Sunday, February 23, 2025 - The Christian Education Day was celebrated with great fervor and devotion. The morning Mass liturgy was beautifully conducted by the children, setting a perfect tone for the day's celebrations.

Following the Mass, a special stage program was organized under the presidency of Parish Priest Fr. Ronald Miranda. The event was graced by distinguished guests including  Joseph Fernandes, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Sr. Jasmitha Crasta, Convent Superior, and Kishore Gonsalves (Kishoo Barkur).

Glen Furtado extended a warm welcome to the honored guests. The ceremony included a special recognition of outstanding students, with awards being presented to those who secured first and second ranks in their catechism examinations. Students with perfect attendance in catechism classes were also honored for their dedication.

In his address, Parish Priest Fr. Miranda commended the tireless efforts of the catechism teachers and praised the children's enthusiasm and commitment to their religious education. The parishioners present at the event expressed their appreciation for the well-organized program.

The organizers also took the opportunity to acknowledge and honor the generous donors who contributed to making the event successful. Ms. Charlotte Dias skillfully compered the program, ensuring smooth flow of events. Ms. Sabita Fernandes delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the celebration.

The event concluded with Parish Priest presenting mementos to the teachers in recognition of their dedicated service. The celebration highlighted the parish's commitment to religious education and the strong community spirit among its members.

The program showcased the importance of Christian education in molding young minds and strengthening their faith, while also recognizing the collaborative efforts of teachers, students, and the parish community in maintaining high standards of religious education.
