The Convocation Ceremony of the National Industrial Training Institute, Herady–Barkur, a prestigious unit of ‘The Barkur Educational Society (Regd.) Barkur’, was held with grandeur and academic dignity on Friday, 3rd October 2025, at 10:30 AM in the ITI Auditorium. The occasion marked the proud award of ‘National Trade Certificates’ to the Diploma holders of the Institute for the academic year 2024 – 25.
The programme began on a solemn note with a soulful hymn sung by Lecturer Ms. Ashwini, invoking God’s blessings on the gathering. Principal Sri Venkatesha Kramadhary then extended a warm and cordial welcome to the dignitaries, invitees, parents, and students. He specially remembered two great souls in Late V L. Roche and B. Seetarama Shetty for the growth of this NITI over the years…and paid rich tributes…
The ceremony was presided over by Sri B. Shantharama Shetty, President of ‘The Barkur Educational Society’. Sri Vittal Shetty Shedikodlu, Vice-President, and Sri Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of the Society, were present as Guests of Honour. Trustees of ‘U.S Nayak Memorial Charitable Trust, Udupi’—Sri Suresh Nayak and Smt. Janet Lewis—graced the event with their presence.
Other special invitees included Mr. Rajarama Shetty and Mr. Ratnakar Shetty, Correspondents of SVVN National English Medium High School, and Mr. Archibald Furtado, Admin Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions. Correspondent of NITI Sri B. Ramachandra Kamath was also present on the dais. All the Diploma holders, along with their proud parents, made the day truly memorable with their participation.
A highlight of the programme was the distribution of scholarships in the form of cheques to economically poor and deserving students, by the donors US Nayak Memorial Charitable Trust. In his followed short message Sri Suresh Nayak expressed happiness in supporting hardworking students of NITI and urged them to remain socially responsible.
All the students who excelled in the previous Exams both class wise and stream wise were honored with prizes, overall outstanding achievers who secured highest marks in the National Level Public Examinations were honored with draping of traditional shawl, memento and the Cash prize sponsored by Mr. Ramesh Poojary, on this occasion.
All the dignitaries, in their inspiring addresses, congratulated the achievers and encouraged the students to strive for excellence in their careers.
Sri Vittal Shetty, Shedikodlu called upon the youth to make best use of technical education for personal growth and service to society.
Sri Ashok Kumar Shetty highlighted the importance of discipline, dedication, and lifelong learning. His advice to parents and students received by the audience in a positive spirit…
Smt. Janet Lewis encouraged all the students to aim high and break barriers in technical fields and assured necessary monetary help to promising students for furthering their studies. Mr. Rajaram Shetty recalled the valuable role of the ‘Barkur Educational Society’ in uplifting rural youth through education.
Sri B. Ramachandra Kamath shared his joy in seeing the Institute grow in reputation and assured continued support for its future endeavors.
Sri B. Shantharama Shetty, in his presidential address, appreciated the hard work of the students and lauded the parents for their support. He specially thanked the donors of Scholarship Mr. Suresh Nayak and our own alumna of National High School Mrs. Janet Lewis… Before concluding he had all praises for the Principal Mr. Kramadhary and his cohesive team works in the success story of NITI to be the best in the Udupi District with exemplary academic records…
The event concluded with Mr. Sudarshan Udupa proposing the vote of thanks, expressing deep gratitude to all dignitaries, parents, staff, and students for making the ceremony a grand success.
Thus, the Convocation Ceremony 2025 became a proud milestone for the Institute, celebrating academic achievement, social responsibility, and the vision of empowering youth with skills for the future.
