Dr Kiran Kamal Prasad receives Lifetime Achievement Award at FKCA Bengaluru Silver Jubilee

Chowdaiah Memorial Hall in Malleshwaram Bangalore was filled joy and happiness. The occasion was the Silver Jubillee celebation of  The Federation of Konkanni Catholic Associations (FKCA).

ArchBishop Peter Machado presided over the function. Bishop Henry DSouza of Bellary, Shri U T Khader, Hon'ble Speaker Karnataka  VidhanSabha, Shri K J George Hon'ble Minister were Guests of Honour.

FKCA has been rendering yeomen service for the cause of Konkanni language, culture and heritage. they have been helping youth of the community to find jobs as well as shelter to stay when they are away from home.


Michael DSouza, renowned enterpreneur and philanthropist, Dr Kiran Kamal Prasad a social activist of fame and renowned writer and lexicographer Stephen Quadros Permude were felicitated in the function. Hailing from Barkur Dr. Kiran Kamal Prasad has rendered exemplary service for the redemption of bobded labourers and child labour.

Dr. Kiran Kamal Prasad, the proud son of late Xavier and Priscilla Lobo from Hosala Barkur, has dedicated his life to the noble cause of eradicating bonded labor and lifelong slavery practices prevalent in certain regions of Karnataka. His unwavering passion and sincere commitment to this cause have brought significant positive changes to the lives of many affected individuals.

Another achiever from Barkur, Sweezal Furtado, Bennekudru, who was crowned Miss Teen Universal Princess recently at Peru, was honored by FKCA at this occassion.

U T Khader and Shri K J George generously praised the multifaceted services rendered by the Konkani Catholic community. Though microscopic in number, its services are really great, they said.

ArchBishop Machado in his presidential adress lauded the contributions of FKCA and congratulated the award winners. He reminded that every award brings in greater responsibility.
