It was an afternoon filled with nostalgia, gratitude, and emotion as SVVN English Medium High School bid a heartfelt farewell to its SSLC Batch 2025–26 at the campus of Shri Vidhyesha Vidya Manya National English Medium High School, Heradi, Barkur.

From the very beginning of the sunny afternoon, on Saturday 7th March 2026, at 2.00 pm the campus atmosphere reflected a blend of joy and sadness. Small groups of outgoing students were seen across the school grounds fondly recollecting the memorable years they had spent in their beloved Alma Mater—many of them for nearly a decade since their early schooling. Laughter mingled with moist eyes as memories of classrooms, playgrounds, friendships, and guidance from teachers came flooding back.

The formal programme commenced as the Principal Mrs. Likhita Kothari and the teaching and non teaching staff were escorted to the AV Hall. They were accompanied by Mr. Archibald Furtado, Administrative Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions managed by The Barkur Educational Society. The gathering began on a prayerful note with a melodious hymn led by Vinamrata, Amulya, Preksha, Bavyatha, Vaibhavi and Navya...that set a reflective and dignified tone for the emotional event.

In the welcome address, Ms Khushi warmly greeted their Principal, teachers, management representatives, and fellow classmates, expressing deep gratitude for the guidance and care they had received during their years at the institution.

One of the most touching moments of the programme came when all the 40 Class X students shared their heartfelt feelings. At times, their voices trembled and tears filled their eyes as they spoke about the love, encouragement, and parental care they experienced in their school. They paid rich tributes to the Principal and teachers for shaping their character, nurturing their talents, and preparing them to face society with confidence and knowledge.

Special appreciation was also expressed for the encouragement given in sports by their favourite Physical Director Mr Suresh Shetty and extracurricular activities that helped them grow beyond academics.

Responding to the students’ sentiments, the Principal Mrs Likhita Kothari and teachers Mrs Bridget Gonsalves, Mr Suresh Shetty, PD, Mr Nagendra Achar the class teacher, congratulated the outgoing batch, describing the SSLC 2025–26 group as one of the most promising and dedicated batches in recent years—students known for their talent, discipline, curiosity to learn, and strong spirit of unity.

As a symbol of their gratitude and affection towards the institution, the Batch 2025–26 presented a meaningful gift in the form of a Projector to the school. The token of appreciation was formally handed over by the student leaders led by Master Shreesha the SPL to the Principal, drawing warm applause from the gathering.

On this occasion PTA President Mr Edgar Fernandes shared his cherished experience in SVVN campus since 12 years and profusely thanked all HM and her colleagues and wished great success to SSLC students in the forthcoming exams.

In his presidential address to the students and teachers Mr. Archibald Furtado conveyed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of Mr. B. Shantarama Shetty, President, and the members of the management of The Barkur Educational Society, as well as the Correspondent Mr. Rajaram Shetty. He appreciated the Principal Mrs Likhita Kothari and the dedicated teaching staff for imparting value-based education that goes far beyond marks and grades, nurturing the all-round development of every child.

He also expressed sincere thanks to the PTA and parents and well-wishers who had entrusted the school with their most precious possession—their children—and supported the institution’s mission of holistic education.

Encouraging the students, Mr. Furtado expressed confidence that the outgoing batch would perform exceptionally well in the forthcoming State Level SSLC Public Examinations beginning on 18th March. He wished them great success, hoping many would secure distinctions and bring honour to their Alma Mater as a fitting tribute to their beloved teachers and mentors.

The programme concluded on an emotional yet hopeful note, with blessings, warm wishes, and the shared belief that the bond between the students and their school would remain strong forever.

The whole program was organised by students and Sreelaxmi and Trishul anchored it and to conclude Master Rishit proposed vote of thanks to all.

The farewell was not merely a formal send-off—it was a celebration of years of learning, friendship, discipline, and values that will continue to guide the young Matriculates as they step into the next chapter of their lives.
